Ok, First this is a review in two parts. The old store is just like the new store. There is not a lot of quality things. The bikes are overpriced and the service is hit or miss. I have had three negative encounters in this store and when the moved thought I would give them another try. I should have known better. Service--Poor Attiture---Poor items in store _poor and poorly marked. It is much nicer to go to both the thrift stores next door. Better quality and much better service.

I don't want anyone to go through what I'm about to tell you. I ordered a bike at this store and the Co-Owner Boze' helped me with the transaction. Boze' told me the bike would be ready for pick up the following week. He took down my name and number and I paid for the bike in full.
The following week came and I'm ready to pick up the bike.
NO BIKE!
I asked Boze' why he did not call me to inform me that the bike was not in the store. His reply was that he was too busy running the store and forgot.
REALLY?!

I felt takened.. I asked for my money back and he did not want to give me my money. No refunds. I disputed the charges on my credit card.
THREE months pasted and with no contact from Treasure Chest Thrift Shop or Boze', to inform me that INFACT; my bike WAS in the store.
On September 10th, my credit card company informed me (BY LETTER) that the bike HAS been in the store ready to be picked up and that the dispute has been dropped.
On September 16th, I go to pick up my bike.
NO BIKE! THERE IS NO BIKE IN THE STORE WAITING FOR ME..
I PAID FOR A BIKE THAT I DON'T HAVE, YET... THIS STORE IS WRITING TO MY CREDIT CARD COMPANY TELLING THEM THAT THE BIKE IS IN THE STORE.....
Boze' saw a bike that looked simular but was not my ordered bike, the color was off and it had no basket. He tried to take off a "HOLD" sign with the name Rebecca on it. THIS IS NOT MY BIKE!! THIS BIKE BELONGS TO A GIRL NAMED REBECCA...

This is truly uncalled for. This store and the Co-Owner Boze' has no integraty. Truly an awful case. I STILL DON'T HAVE MY BIKE AND THEY KEPT MY MONEY. SO WRONG ON MANY LEVELS.

Originally I dropped off my motorized beach cruiser for routine repairs. The repairs took MONTHS. Every so often I would check in and wasn't in a hurry so I didn't make a situation about it. Finally I decided to put the bike on consignment after the repairs were complete.
The bike eventually sold but I had to go in and find that out on my own. Then the owner Boze told me that he was not going to pay me what the bike made from the consignment sale because of the time it took to sell. It was never mentioned to me they operate this way nor did I get a call that it sold. Who does business like this?

We ended up buying a bike for her elsewhere - I don't remember why, but several good reasons incl. that Vta is 30 miles away.

When (after more than 6 months) we went back to claim the credit & use it to buy clothes or something else there, BOGE/BOJE/BOZE/BOGYAY/BEAUGEAY, co-owner, refused to give any credit at all: It had been "too long that that bike was on hold, so we sold it to someone else & NO, you can't have any money back."
No rational discussion was possible with this 'man'. I was stunned & disbelieving of his attitude, & he became hostile & unpleasant. This kind of policy & 'customer service' can be more normal in Europe, but I've NEVER heard of a store which would take your $100 deposit/layaway, never part with any merchandise, and then REFUSE TO GIVE YOU EVEN THE CREDIT TO USE IN THE STORE FOR SOMETHING ELSE.!!! Or even be incredibly hard-nosed & give you PARTIAL credit, because "you left it too long"...! Unbelievable.
In sum, and I am sorry to say this as he is a fellow Canadian (though 'French'..), but the owner of that shop behaves as an unmitigated A-hole. I would love to see the shop FAIL, however they seem to survive there, partly by scamming other would-be bike buyers & those attempting to get 'repairs' -- as other reviews here attest. Naturally, as others have said, there is never ANY mention of their 'policies' at the time ot putting cash in their slimy hands.

I do not recommend this place for many reasons. First, it is a gross misrepresentation. It is not a thrift store, it's a bike store posing as a place for other peoples discards. A good thrift store has items that are in decent shape, still usable, serviceable, at honest, or at least reasonable prices. And what are reasonable prices? Say $4-$12 for used shoes. The upper end at $12, for real brand name leather shoes that have been used but still have years of life in them, like an Allen-Edmonds or Johnston Murphy. This place sells Kohls brand old shoes that you can buy new for $25-$35, for $17-$19. NOT A DEAL, WHY BUY TRASH? Dirty inside, lots of old scheisse (if you know what I mean) useless to anyone. Their new items like caps are like rejects and not worth your while at $5. Really now. This place gives the other legit stores on Main a bad name.
Dirty. Dirty. Dirty. This is a prime example why not just anyone can open a thrift store. Items are filthy and I'm not talking about the normal thrift store grit. Items are poorly priced, if at all. Books being a great example. Also items that are prices are way overpriced. It's hard to keep up with two awesome thrift stores next door and more down the block, but at least try?!? All in all not worth even looking inside. Too bad!

This is an all right thrift store on the main street in Ventura. On the end of town with the museum and the mission.
They have a large selection of nice looking bicycles (new, not thrift). They have used clothes, some household goods, and a selection of new and used accessories. Prices are okay. I stopped in yesterday and the things I was interested in didn't have a price tag on them so I had to ask at the counter. I feel awkward having to ask in case it's too expensive and I have to put it back in front of the employees. I ended up buying something that was a good find for a cheap price, but still would rather have prices on everything.
